When you have selected your donor don't risk that we are sold out in the middle of your treament process. Averagely 5-6 cycle treatments are needed in order to achieve pregnancy. Therefore it is recommended to reserve sufficient amount of straws before the treatment starts.

After you have given birth to a child you might want to have more children. The question is then whether it is possible to receive semen from the same donor? Often this is not possible, because the particular donor will be sold out by that time.

The benefits of using the same donor for future pregnancies are obvious:

The children will be 100% genetically related and therefore have the best chance of having similar features.
The donor was successful. You became pregnant by use of this particular donor. Not all donors and recipients will "match" biologically together and result in a pregnancy.
You will know what to expect.
Some children might develop identity problems later in life if they are told about the donor insemination. It might, however, help them if they are 100% genetically related to their brothers or sisters.

In order to avoid both situations, it is recommended to make a reservation of semen already when you order the semen first time.

Should the actual donor be sold out you can be registered on a waiting list. Contact Cryos. You will be contacted if there is later sperm free of quarantine or if other with a reservation expire. For the moment hundreds of people are registered on the waiting list which is a clear signal that it is a good idea to make reservation in due time.

Can the reservation be prolonged?
A reservation can always be prolonged. When the time is approaching for expiry we will send you a e-mail reminder.
E-mail reminders are free. Letter reminders will be charged EUR 7.50. Registered reminder will be charged EUR 15.

Can I make further reservation later?
Yes, as long as we have straws from the donor you can search online and make a reservation. Addtitional reservation is done as ordinary reservation - just click "add to existing reservation" under "Select reservation".

How can I have the reserved semen delivered?
When you need the reserved semen delivered you can do this online by use of your username and password - click here.
Before delivery can take place you must fill in a Delivery Statement form which is sent in online (or by mail/fax) to Cryos attached a copy of safe photo ID (passport, drivers license, etc.).
The semen can be sent to your home address or to a clinic of your choice - read more here.

Termination of a reservation?
When you want to terminate your reservation you can do this online by use of your username and password - click here.
Before termination can take place you must fill in a Termination Statement form which is sent in online (or by mail/fax) to Cryos attached a copy of safe photo ID (passport, drivers license, etc.).
When the reservation is closed 75% (or any other percentage according to your agreement) of the purchase price will be refunded for the straws still in Cryos' position.
