CBS® products

CBS® (Cryo Bio System) manufactures equipment, consumables, and storage management systems for the preservation and storage of all types of biological samples (blood components, cells, DNA, Gametes, embryos, etc.) at very low temperatures.

Cryopreservation
CBS® high security straws and accessories have been developed especially for the freezing of human embryos and semen as well as all other (frozen) fluids which must be protected against contamination or from contaminating the external environment. CBS® high security straws are made of a soft non-toxic plastic material, and the straws are closed by heat sealing in both ends (withstand 150 kg/cm2). CBS® has developed a thermal pulse sealing device (SYMS) for impermeable sealing of the high security straws. The straws can be decontaminated on the outside (by using for instance alcohol) after thawing and before being opened. CBS® high security straws can also be decontaminated before freezing, which will result in a cleaner environment in the nitrogen tank. Comprehensive studies and documentation have been made and can be forwarded on request. CBS® high security straws are CE and FDA approved.

Storage and accessories
CBS® goblets are the removable storage elements placed in the liquid nitrogen container. Each goblet has several compartments of different colours called visotubes. Visotubes are available with different capacities of 0.5 ml and 1 ml straws as well as different shapes (hexagonal, round, and triangular). Five lengths of canisters are available, with a capacity of 2 to 6 goblets stored on top of each other.
